December 1st. Start of the training program

So the Slender Fungus got together and with the help of A.G. we got some ideas on training and general well being. Our goal was to start on Dec. 1st and to start tabulating miles and activities. So, for today I rode down to Palos and met up with A.G. for some singletrack. It was an 11 mile ride to get there and we promptly hit the trails just behind the Coffee House in Ghost town. Ghost town is located on the South-East corner of Archer and Willow Springs. If you don't know where that is you should. Check it out on Google and go there and ride bikes.
We hit the singletrack and it was greasy and we felt bad being on it. We exited asap and got on the road to head south and catch the canal trail just north of the Slough. We rode west then did some manuevering around rte83 with a found sidewalk and then took the double track all the way east again. We then rode the County lane which is gravel and finished the ride at about 4 pm. I then rode home with the skies darkening and the temps dropping. My front brake was a mess and I could not stop it from skreeching. So I undid the two bolts and took the darn thing off. I dropped the whole system in my barmitt.
42 miles for the day on the 29er. I was sore but happy. Thanks to A.G. for coming out.

I thought you should know about this. Flat as a pancake for the most part, but real endurance.
